Computer Network कई अलग-अलग Hardware और Software Components से मिलकर बना होता है। इन्हीं Components की मदद से Data Transfer, File Sharing और Communication संभव होता है। इस article में हम Computer Network के सभी प्रमुख Components को विस्तार से समझेंगे।

1. Server

Server, Network का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण और केंद्रीय Computer होता है। Network के बाकी सभी Computers (Nodes) इसी Server से जुड़े होते हैं। Server, अन्य सभी Computers से अधिक Powerful होता है क्योंकि Network का समस्त Data इसी पर Store किया जाता है।

Server के मुख्य प्रकार: File Server (Files Store करता है), Print Server (Network Printers Manage करता है), Web Server (Websites Host करता है), Mail Server (Emails Handle करता है), और Database Server (Database Manage करता है)।

उदाहरण: किसी School या Office में जो Central Computer होता है जिसपर सभी Students या Employees का Data रखा जाता है — वह Server होता है।

2. Nodes (Client Computers)

Server को छोड़कर Network से जुड़े सभी Computers को Nodes कहा जाता है। ये वो Computers होते हैं जिनपर Users काम करते हैं। प्रत्येक Node का एक अलग नाम और IP Address होता है।

जो Nodes बाकी Nodes से अधिक Powerful होते हैं उन्हें Work Station कहा जाता है। Nodes को Client Computer भी कहते हैं क्योंकि ये Server से Services लेते हैं।

3. Network Cable

जिन Cables से Network के सभी Computers आपस में जुड़े होते हैं उन्हें Network Cable कहते हैं। ये Data Transfer का माध्यम होती हैं। इन्हें Bus भी कहा जाता है।

आजकल Wireless Networking (Wi-Fi) भी बहुत प्रचलित है जिसमें किसी Cable की जरूरत नहीं होती। Data Sharing, File Sharing, और Internet Sharing — ये सब Network Cable या Wi-Fi से होते हैं।

4. Network Operating System (NOS)

Network Operating System वह Software होता है जो Network के सभी Client Computers के बीच संबंध तय करता है और उनके बीच सूचना के आवागमन को Control करता है। यह Software Server में Install किया जाता है।

प्रमुख Network Operating Systems: Windows Server 2022, Linux (Ubuntu Server, Red Hat), Novell NetWare, और macOS Server।

5. Network Interface Card (NIC)

NIC एक Hardware Circuit होता है जो Network Cables को Client Computer से जोड़ता है। इस Card की सहायता से Data Sharing बहुत Fast Speed से होती है। यह Card Computer Network से जुड़े सभी Computers के Motherboard में लगाया जाता है। इसे Ethernet Card या Network Adapter भी कहते हैं।

आजकल अधिकतर Computers में NIC पहले से Built-in होती है। NIC की Speed 10 Mbps से 10 Gbps तक होती है।

6. Hub और Switch

Hub एक Basic Networking Device है जो Network के सभी Computers को Connect करता है। Hub Data को सभी Computers पर Broadcast करता है — इसलिए यह धीमा होता है।

Switch, Hub का Advanced Version है। Switch Data को केवल उसी Computer को भेजता है जिसके लिए वह Data होता है। इससे Network Traffic कम होती है और Speed बढ़ती है। आजकल सभी Modern Networks में Switch का उपयोग होता है।

7. Router

Router एक ऐसा Device है जो दो या दो से अधिक Networks को आपस में Connect करता है। यह Data Packets को सही रास्ते से Destination तक पहुंचाता है। घर में Internet Connection के लिए Wi-Fi Router का उपयोग होता है। Router, LAN को Internet (WAN) से Connect करता है।

8. Network Topology

Network Topology किसी Network के Computers को आपस में जोड़ने की विशेष पद्धति होती है। आजकल निम्न Topologies प्रचलित हैं:
